The whole day was planned to perfection and coordinated so the 108 degree day didn’t get in the way of enjoyment. We gained new knowledge of wines from this region and Inma answered all of our questions and explained details in digestible and entertaining ways. The whole day felt like we were with an old friend that was showing us around and sharing her passion with us. We would highly recommend this private tour with Inma it was fantastic! Heather B2025-07-09Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a wonderful time. Inma understood what we liked and all of the wineries we visited were fantastic. Thank you!!! Marie Davies2025-06-11Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have just spent 3 days with Inma and Mel touring 8 wineries and vineyards in the Rioja Wine region. I cannot recommend them enough. Their expertise and knowledge of this area is impressive and their passion really shines through. They have clearly built up close relationships and friendships with leading winemakers across the region and really understood our brief and what we were looking to experience. As winemakers and growers from Stopham Vineyard in Sussex, England representing our trade body Wine GB, Inma and Mel delivered an itinerary to showcase the diverse terroir in Rioja and the different approaches by winemakers in crafting world class wines. Some trying new innovative approaches like using gravity to process grapes, using more clay amphora vessels and more sustainable, biodynamic viticulture and others respecting traditional practices and wine making techniques using barrel ageing reflecting the ageing classification. There is so much to say about this tour, how engaging it was and we felt like we were getting a ‘money can’t buy’ tour, behind the scenes with winemakers in a range of wineries from smaller garage producers to larger scale wineries with a slick wine tourism offering. A lot was learnt and so many highlights! Thank you for also immersing us in the local village culture too, great restaurants and delicious Riojan dishes. An unforgettable experience. Thank you Inma and Mel 🙏🍷 Marie, Simon, Adderley and Matt (Stopham Vineyard, Sussex England) Kimberly McGrath2025-06-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Inma's wine tour was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Spain. Her knowledge of wine and the region was second to none. The most special part was her perfectly curated itinerary - meeting with the actual winemakers and getting the opportunity to see some of the smaller producers was absolutely exceptional. We would recommend Inma to anyone going to Rioja! Blake Sirach2025-06-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our day trip with Inma was amazing on all counts! She brought such depth of knowledge across winemaking techniques, history of Rioja, regional philosophy, producer styles—and has excellent rapport with some truly special producers that showcase the best of the region. She customized a tour for us based on contrasting a classic scaled producer with very, very small production family producers in which the owner/winemakers guided us through the tastings personally. It was a super special day that culminated with Inma preparing a lovely Riojan lunch which was just delicious. She really over delivered on the experience. Highly recommend. We chose the Wine and Architecture Tour and Inma had us captivated all day with her incredible knowledge about the history of the region and of course the wine making process and industry. The wines we tasted were delicious and the wineries and towns we visited were beautiful and charming but the day was made because of Inma and Mel and their wonderful hospitality. Inma even provided a list of other wineries to visit in La Rioja and a detailed list of her favorite spots to hit in Madrid for the next leg of our trip. Absolutely do not miss out on the chance to have these two show off this stunningly beautiful region of Spain. Very personally organised, extremely chosen sites to visit. A memorable day out - highly recommended Trevor Dolding2025-03-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Whether you’re just discovering the Rioja region and its wines or are totally hooked “bungee” visitors (like our group), Rioja Wine Trips is simply the best way to experience it. Inma and Mel are fantastic guides and lovely people, who genuinely understand and care about the culture, wines and producers that they’ll share with you. These tours are the highlight of every visit we make to Spain and over the years we’ve covered everything from the smallest (but mightiest) bodega in Rioja to the biggest names. And everything in between. Each tour has been perfectly balanced, fresh and fun. We have seen, learned and enjoyed so much that we would never have found – let alone been able to access – on our own. I can’t wait to come back and to see what great things Inma and Mel unlock for us next! Stan Metheny2025-03-22Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Inma and Mel are very special people, the 'real deal' of La Rioja. After 10+ years of making winery visits with them the experience continues to be fresh and lively. Their deep knowledge of the wine and culture of Rioja, and their close relationships with winemakers, allow them to offer an enriching experience that is above and beyond. Their long list of credentials and credits are not just on paper. If you want to experience Rioja from the inside, treat yourself to spending time with them.
Ask everything you always wanted to know
When you taste you only see the final product. On this tour you will have the opportunity to ask them everything you always wanted to know about grapes, vineyards and winemaking decisions over (many) glasses of wine.
You will wander through the vineyards at your leisure with the winemakers, learning about viticulture and the winemaking process.
First we will visit their vineyards and see the vines being worked. We will visit the winery and finish with an extensive Rioja tasting of the fruits of those labours at the tasting room of the family-run winery. You will enjoy 5 wines. The grower who works the vines will be happy to share his/her knowledge and passion for their wine.
We will then head to a high-end boutique family-run winery to enjoy a tasting of 3 wines. As we change area, we also change the winemaking approach, since this winery makes terroir-driven wines sourced from their own vineyards in their home town. They only sell to high-end restaurants.
Afterwards we will go to a private dining room for a well-deserved lunch . We’ll finish off the day with a walk to a cultural heritage site to learn about Rioja in a fun, informative way.
